The Environment And Quality Considerations
A lot of thought has gone into the card, the ink used on the card, and ensuring that the cards we print are recyclable.
Cards are printed on a material called Invercote G, manufactured by a company called Iggesund. Card is produced from sustainably managed forest in bio-powered mills.
Iggesund is part of the forest industry group Holmen, which owns over a million hectares of forest in Sweden. They have great environmental credentials which we believe is very important given the nature of our business.
The printing process
Greeting Cards are printed on demand using digital print technologies. We never print more than what is ordered by our customers, which ensures our waste is kept to a minimum.
Printing on demand allows us to provide personalisation and more designs. It also allows artists on our programmeto earn a living without having to do a print run of thousands of cards.
We never have to dispose of stock that has been printed in bulk and has proven unpopular. A great bonus for the environment.
Many greeting card companies (including many big names) use a wet liquid or liquid toner technology to produce cards. This makes the cards non-recyclable. This is not the case with cards from weallsendcards.com.
Our cards are printed with dry toner on a XeroxiGen4 press, limiting the environmental impact of members sending greeting cards. Sourcing the board for our cards from a company which maintains sustainable forests, and powers their production with bio-powered mills also has a positive impact.
If you consciously or subconsciously consider the environment when buying and sending greetings cards, then you could do much worse than use weallsendcards.com!
